Celebrate the Global Rainbow in the City of Canals: WorldPride Amsterdam 2026!

WorldPride Amsterdam 2026 is the world's largest combined WorldPride and EuroPride event, a two-week festival of marches, concerts, and the iconic Canal Parade, where decorated boats carry LGBTQ+ organisations through Amsterdam's historic canals in one of the most photographed Pride moments on earth. Amsterdam has been a global beacon for LGBTQ+ rights since the Netherlands became the first country to legalise same-sex marriage, which means Pride here doesn't just celebrate, it anchors something real.

As one of the rare cities to have hosted two EuroPrides and one WorldPride, Amsterdam holds a special place in queer travel history. Want to dive deeper into the legacy of these landmark events? Explore my full guide to EuroPrides through the years and WorldPrides through the years to discover how these global celebrations have shaped queer visibility across Europe and beyond.

Witness the Spectacle of Pride on Historic Canals

  • WorldPride Amsterdam Canal Parade: Immerse yourself in the electrifying energy of the WorldPride Amsterdam Canal Parade on Saturday 1 August. Witness a spectacle unlike any other as hundreds of boats adorned with vibrant colours and messages of inclusivity navigate the iconic Amsterdam canals. The parade is one of the only Pride parades in the world held entirely on water, making it a truly unique global spectacle.
  • WorldPride Village at Museumplein: From 4 to 8 August, Museumplein becomes the beating heart of WorldPride, home to the WorldPride Village, a cultural hub and community meeting place for LGBTQIA+ organisations from around the world. Museumplein also hosts the major concerts, including the UNITY Concert on 4 August and the spectacular Closing Concert on 8 August.
  • A 15-Day Festival of Community and Culture: WorldPride Amsterdam features over 500 events across 15 days, from the opening Pride March and Pride Park at Vondelpark on 25 July, to street parties, an Open Air Film Festival, a Human Rights Conference at the Beurs van Berlage, dedicated community zones for trans people, youth, seniors, bi+ and more, a Wedding Party XXL celebrating 25 years of marriage equality, and a grand WorldPride March and Closing Concert on 8 August.

Amsterdam Canal Pride isn’t just fabulous — it’s also one of the biggest Pride events happening this year! From massive parades to unforgettable parties, it’s a must on any Pride travel calendar.
