This is not a local event that grew big; it is the biggest event of its kind in human history, and it has held that title since 2006.

  • Pride Village: Immerse yourself in the bustling Pride Village, a vibrant hub of booths, vendors, food trucks, and entertainment. Discover unique crafts, savor delicious local cuisine, and enjoy live music and performances under the São Paulo sun.

Frequently asked questions

São Paulo has one of the most visible and established queer communities in South America, centred around the Jardins neighbourhood, particularly the stretch of Rua Frei Caneca known as the city's gay village. The city is generally welcoming to LGBTQ+ visitors, and during Pride month the entire centre of the city transforms around the community.

São Paulo Pride, officially the Parada do Orgulho LGBTQIA+ de São Paulo, is the world's largest Pride parade as certified by Guinness World Records. It draws between three and five million attendees annually to Avenida Paulista, making it bigger than any other Pride event on earth. It has held the Guinness record since 2006.

The parade takes place on Avenida Paulista, the city's main boulevard. It starts in front of the Museu de Arte de São Paulo (MASP) and moves through Rua da Consolação toward Praça Roosevelt, where the event ends. The nearest metro stations are Trianon-MASP and Consolação on Linha 2 Verde.

Hotels on and around Avenida Paulista and in the Jardins and Bela Vista neighbourhoods sell out fast for Pride weekend. Circuit parties, particularly events by Superfestas and TNW, also sell out well in advance. Book accommodation and any paid events as early as possible, ideally several months ahead.

São Paulo is served by two airports: Guarulhos International (GRU), the main international hub, and Congonhas (CGH) for domestic flights. From Guarulhos, the metro connects to central São Paulo via the CPTM Line 13 Jade to Luz station. The parade itself is easily reached by metro on Linha 2 Verde.
